Japan is my new favourite country!!! There’s so much to love about the country which I found after my visit to Tokyo. The only sad thing was that we were there for only 4 days and didn’t get to visit other cities such as Osaka and Kyoto. Tokyo, as a representative of Japan, has a rich culture and it can be seen to be preserved around the city as well as mix with modern life. The people are all so nice and you can always hear people saying thank-you (in Japanese) as you’re walking around. Many temples and parks to see and relax in. As a tourist, there is free WiFi in most subway stations and even local volunteers at most major stations who will help you if you ever needed it.

Though, the train system is quite complicated, with you often needing to get out of the station to change to a different line. Before visiting, we were worried about the weather (as there was a typhoon a few weeks before we went.) However, the weather was perfect to travel about.

Japan is known for having delicious food such as ramen, sushi, tempura, shabu shabu and many more. Make sure to get Tokyo banana as a souvenir snack back home cause it’s so tasty!!!

One of my favourite places was the Pokémon café. Being a fan of Pokémon, ever since I was young, this was such as wonderful experience and so much fun. The food was all themed and there was also a Pokémon store outside – where I wish I could have bought everything!! The best part was when Eevee, at the café, who made a surprise appearance!!! Make sure you book the Pokémon café in advance as it is a reservation only.

We met one of our friends from school in Tokyo. We went to an authentic Japanese restaurant, trying beef innards hot pots, assorted Sashimi, the food tasted so nice! He acted like our personal guide for the afternoon, which was nice getting a kind of local perspective on Tokyo. A shock which we found out was that there were no bins on streets of Tokyo, apparently this makes people take rubbish home and makes it cleaner. I also really liked taking pictures of the neon lights as they’re so cool! And as our friend said, they represent the image of Tokyo like place such as Shibuya.

The digital art museum is one of the best museums in world in my opinion; it’s a interactive art museum so no dull paintings on the wall to stare at. There were several expeditions which made the place so unique, the museum itself is one big artwork connected in every way possible. Make sure you get your tickets for this online beforehand as it’s mostly fully booked too.

Maybe next time visit during the sakura season and other cities. Look forward to what we can expect from Japan for the 2020 Olympics and I’m sure it will be incredible.
